New Photography Toy

No, it's not a new Canon EOS 5D or anything, but a couple of iPhone apps I've stumbled upon in the last 24 hours. The first one I came across was "CameraBag" by Nevercenter. This app lets you run photos on your iPhone through various filtering presets. Among these are "Helga", which mimics the classic look of Holga photographs; "Lolo", which mimics Lomo photographs; as well as Infrared, B&W & Polaroid treatments, among others.

I scored some pretty interesting transformations with this tool:

"Helga" treatment

"Lolo" treatment
"Cinema" treatment

Then I found out about a second app, Tiltshift by Michael Krause. This allows one to select a certain focus area to accentuate within a photo. Paired with CameraBag, I found this create some really cool-looking images:

Applications like these make me want to spend even more time looking to take interesting photos with my iPhone... and I didn't think I'd ever have much fun with that.
