I’m not really much of a photographer, but every once in awhile, I get an impressive shot. Well, impressive to me. This photoblog is a personal exercise designed to get me to use my camera(s) more often, in the hopes that I might get better with practice. This might be a false hope, but I’m willing to try. The goal is to shoot every day, and to have each post include a shot from that entry day... get it? It's a fair task for someone who works full-time doing something not related to photography.
I currently own 5 cameras:
I use the
Canon Powershot G3 for the majority of my shooting. I love the film cameras, and tend to get better results from them… but I’m a cheapskate, and getting the film developed properly always costs me too much moolah. The convenience of a digital camera is unbeatable right now.
I use (mainly) an
Apple iBook G3/800,
Adobe Photoshop v.7 and
Movable Type. Occassionally, I’ll use
Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, but most of my coding is done by trial and error within MT. Aren’t I brilliant? It’s not time-consuming or anything – I don’t spend
hours everyday tweaking my CSS code or anything.
The girl behind the camera...
I’m a 29-year-old chick living in southern California. Born and raised. You can tell, ‘cuz I say “like” far too often. Other than photography and the most simple web design, I enjoy hiking (or rather, the idea of it, ‘cuz, like, I haven’t been hiking in
ages, and I’m certainly not in any sort of shape for it).
I also like to travel, and I enjoy solitary road tripping to a semi-dangerous extent (or so all the cowards I hang around with tell me). I work for
Universal Studios NBC Universal’s
Digital Video Services division. I have a desk job where I deal with orders for DVD video submasters, publicity screeners and subtitling reference cassettes all day. I *heart* my job!
I’m currently obsessing over:
1) purchasing a MINI Cooper
2) this photoblog, obviously
3) whether or not to cash out my IRA
4) Rufus Wainwright, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz Ferdinand and Björk.
5) Del Taco (this is the really destructive one)
I can be contacted at the following “email address”:
julie at lack of style dot com, however, I rarely check that address, so if you’re absolutely
dying to get in touch with me (goodness knows why!), I can be reached at this address:
weezgrrl at earthlink dot net.
That's it, you now know everything about me. Now why don't you head back to the
main attraction...
